Seasons Greetings from the CuriousWorks Team.

December is usually the season of sunshine and sweat, but Sydneysiders have found themselves packing umbrellas rather than sunscreen this summer. So we thought we would bring you some desert sun and a slice of life from some of the world’s hottest locations.

Take a journey online through Punmu, remote Martu community in Australia’s Little Sandy Desert, and hang out with the kids of Burringurrah, a Yamatji remote community in the Gascoyne, WA.

Offline, we recommend taking a trip to the National Museum Australia to see Yiwarra Kuju (The Canning Stock Route) exhibition and immerse yourself in the works of senior and emerging artists from the Pilbara. Yiwarra Kuju tells the story of the Canning Stock Route’s impact on the Aboriginal people, and the importance of the Country that surrounds it. Plus, it features video works from Desert Stories Director Curtis Taylor.
