Dear Curious Folk,

In this newsletter we introduce some new South Asian community art works from CuriousWorks - connecting Australian, Indian and Sri Lankan communities. Separation is a classical Indian dance film set on the shores of La Perouse, Sydney. It is performed and created by recent Sri Lankan refugees to Australia, in collaboration with Anandavalli from Lingalayam Dance Company.

The Dam(n) Project investigates the consequences of large-scale dam development in rural India. Led by artists Jehan Kanga, Leah Barclay and CuriousWorks' director, Shakthi Sivanathan, the project connects CuriousWorks with The Song Company and Attakkalari, India's leading contemporary dance company.

We also farewell our Producer, Eleanor Winkler, this month. Through The Stories Project, Eleanor produced some outstanding works of film and media art with communities from across Western Sydney and the Western Desert. We'll miss her tenacious, committed and collaborative spirit enormously, and wish her all the best as she moves on to a career in large scale film production. With Eleanor's departure, Vanessa Hyde now takes up the role of General Manager at CuriousWorks - you'll be hearing a lot more from her in future newsletters.
Immerse yourself in the world of remote Indigenous Indian communities.
Watch beautiful bursts of cinema from Eleanor's key project during her time at CuriousWorks.
