Kurinji have released the soundtrack they created for Riz – our debut feature premiering at the Sydney Film Festival this weekend.
Aimée Falzon’s gorgeous vocal harmonies soar over an emotive mix of indie pop, electronica and rock. Download the album now for just $7.
Kurinji will be playing live ahead of Sunday night’s Riz screening at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. CDs on sale on the night for $7 or special offer of $10 for two.
The Riz album explores the nature of friendship, betrayal and forgiveness through a series of songs drawn from the film’s soundtrack.
Right Right celebrates the strength of community; Maybe the Medicine proclaims to need to fight back; and How they Break Apart mourns the loss of friendship stronger than family.
About Kurinji
Shakthi grew up in cities, with classical Indian music, curries and traffic jams. Aimée grew up in the bush with madrigals, chickens and riverbeds.
As a teenager, Shakthi fell in love with Nirvana and now listens obsessively to indie dance and electronica. As a teenager, Aimée fell in love with Angelique Kidjo and now listens obsessively to Beyonce.
Kurinji effortlessly blends these influences into their own distinctive sound.
