CuriousWorks begun casting for its second long-form film, Myth, in July 2015. In October casting continues, as we open the audition doors again to source two key female supporting roles.

Myth will be presented on large screens in cities around the world in partnership with New York’s Streaming Museum. This new independent Australian film and live audio-visual event is part of a global multi-year arts project, featuring stories that reconnect audiences into their innate relationship to the natural world.

Each screening of Myth will carry interactive elements that can be accessed via the project’s apps on smart phones and tablets, enticing audiences deeper into the work. The large-scale audiovisual experiences will be accompanied by a range of other outcomes including live performances, extended stories online and documentaries. Thereafter it will be sent to film festivals and have screenings as a feature film.

Myth follows three women. One from the past – born Darug, moves to and lives her life out with Yolngu, given the name Yumalil. Yumalil’s descendent is Lily, who is based in the present and works at a Sydney law firm. Lily’s descendant, Uma is in the future, she’s one of the Kurjuż – a highly mobile ecosystem of people who live at odds to the stationary and cumbersome living style prefered by the Settlers.

This film will have a soundscape and visual focus with very little dialogue.
