Colony Online Universe Launched Today

The evolution of our signature art project leapt forward this afternoon, as the  full Colony website went live.

You may have been following the daily online chapters in Colony's Creation Story over the past seven days. The new website brings that to a conclusion and unveils new stories to come, and shares insights into how the characters link together in this grand narrative spanning pre-colonial Australia to the 22nd century.

Don't expect all the answers. Much of the online narrative comes from the perspective of 'Sam', a central character and keeper of the Colony stories. We learn more as she does. New chapters in her story are released throughout 2016 with every new moon - take the journey with her.

We've had a fantastic response to Colony since more than 300 people packed into Carriageworks last week for the live audiovisual concert that launched the project. You can read one of the reviews here.

Riz Goes Riverside on Sunday

Don't forget Sunday evening is the special live score screening of Riz, our western suburbs cult classic that sold out at the 2015 Sydney Film Festival.

This one-night-only event at at Riverside Theatres in Parramatta 7.30pm will feature  Kurinji playing the soundtrack live during the screening, and a Q&A with the film’s co-directors.

Know any secondary teachers? Bring them along. We've just launched the Riz Education Package, in which Cabramatta-based co-director Guido Gonzalez takes the film into schools and facilitates student workshops that can be geared to numerous areas of the NSW curriculum (or university courses).

You can ask questions about it during the Q&A, or contact us if you are interested in the package but can’t make it to Riverside. We’re happy to discuss details and arrange a preview for you.

New Chapters in the Riz Story

Did you realise Riz is part of the Colony universe of stories? Well, yeah ... and the story of his mates continues beyond the film.

Stay tuned to the Colony website this week. Tomorrow, we relive the scene when they imagine what their futures hold. From Thursday to Saturday, we'll be checking out how that worked out for three of them through new music videos from the film's soundtrack.
