What happens after a project is done? At CuriousWorks, emerging artists build up their skills, talents and experience on various arts, community and social enterprise projects. Every project is a learning experience, no matter what your role in it is. We’ve had the privilege of seeing how the Curious Creators have grown and developed as artists, but it can be difficult to track a person’s progress just through social media posts and occasional project outcomes. So we’ve asked some of the Curious Creators to reflect back on some of their past projects and share their perspectives.

Shawn Spina has been a Curious Creator from the beginning! He’s worked on many CuriousWorks projects, from getting his first feature film experience on Riz, to Las Rosas, to being the lead facilitator for the WOW Kids Reporters. Shawn started writing Prone to the Drone as part of the Curious Creators Writer’s Group; it was selected as part of the 2019 Screenability program and premiered at the State Theatre at Sydney Film Festival. We asked him to create a creative reflection based on his experiences working on Prone to the Drone, and what it’s like finally taking the helm as a lead creative.
