You will be responsible for developing, nurturing and delivering the artistic vision of the company in collaboration with our communities and emerging artistic directorate. You will provide creative leadership and mentorship, ensuring the company achieves its artistic, social impact and strategic objectives.

The successful applicant will have a strong record of achievement in an artistic leadership role, including the capacity to develop and deliver an artistic vision; to communicate the vision with confidence and passion to our artists, communities, funding bodies and donors; create and deliver work across artform and to work collaboratively with artists, communities and partners. It is expected that the successful candidate will work within the broad creative vision set out in our 2020-2024 Strategic Plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Providing strong, inspirational and high-profile creative leadership to enable the company to achieve its artistic and strategic objectives as set out in our 2020 – 2024 Strategic Plan;
  •  Leading the design and delivery of artistic programs in close collaboration with our emerging artistic directorate;
  • Leading the curation and delivery of the Annual Program, including the development, mentorship and commissioning of artists; 
  • Developing the widest possible audience for the company’s work and championing its commitment to accessibility, inclusivity and creative opportunity for all;
  • Playing an active role in fundraising and strategic partnership development, incl. arts and screen funding bodies, research partners, and philanthropists;

 SELECTION CRITERIA

  • A strong record of achievement in an artistic leadership role;
  • Be highly motivated and possess a creative arts background;
  • The capacity to develop and deliver an artistic vision; and to communicate the vision with confidence and passion to the community, funding bodies, donors and sponsors;
  • The ability to work collaboratively with artists, communities and partners;
  • Demonstrated experience in training, mentoring and building leadership capacity in others;
  • Passion for new technologies, people, story and diversity;
  • Experience working with video/ digital production and/or multi-arts community events, including leading small emerging creative teams.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • This position is 4-days per week (30.4hrs)
  •  Salary is $85,000 p.a. (pro-rata) + superannuation guarantee
  • A three-month probation period applies
  • The position is based at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Casula, NSW
  • The successful candidate will undertake police check and Working with Children Check, at their own expense
