2021 was a challenging year. After sitting in person to see the premiere of Let Me Know When You Get Home and escaping to the Blue Mountains for the Artistic Directorate retreat, we were sent back into a long lockdown, long after the novelty of ‘pivoting to online’ had worn off.
Still, the Annual Report was a great opportunity to reflect and remember all the good that did come out of last year. Bush, Country, Voices, a work that was largely filmed and edited during a pandemic, finally had its showcase at the Marsden Gallery at the Casula Powerhouse. FUNPARK continued its proud tradition of the Mount Druitt Press Conference, bringing the voices of young, Bidwill-based First Nations youth to the MCA. And even in the midst of lockdown, CuriousWorks found ways to stay connected and creative through projects like Handle with Care.
