We're very excited to announce thatHeart of the Fight, our documentary of Aboriginal pastor Richard Phillips, aka Dick Blair, Australian middleweight champion and co-founder of The Block in Redfern, is getting a premiere broadcast on the free-to-air NITV channel, 7.30pm Wednesday (6 July).
Congratulations to our filmmaker Mark Taylor and all the team involved for this recognition. With funding from the Wales Foundation, they spent three years making this special film with communities from Redfern and nearby areas. Through the life of this inspiring leader, they've captured some remarkable insights into Sydney's indigenous history in the heady days surrounding the 1967 referendum and the new wave of the Aboriginal rights movement.
Everyone is welcome to watch Wednesday's broadcast at the Redfern Community Centre next to The Block. Entry free, doors open 7pm.
