WHEN THE TIDE COMES IN

Theatre

Ongoing

When the Tide Comes In depicts a near future Australia that has been transformed by natural disasters and waves of climate change refugees. It explores the nature of corporate power, recent technologies and fractured community groups in this context. The work is in its early stages, with a premier intended for 2020.

The focus in 2017 was script development, structured through a series of dramaturgical sessions with Playwriting Australia as part of their Ignition Program. The core narrative and structure of the work was teased out in these sessions, leading to a first draft and reading late in the year.

When the Tide Comes In is part of the Colony body of work – a universe of interconnected stories that span pre-colonial times to the 22nd century.
