OUR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE MODEL
“The skill and professionalism of the Curious Creators was awe-inspiring with great leadership that engages and encourages young emerging artists to explore and experiment.”
Lily Shearer
Artistic Director, Moogahlin Performing Arts

Our unique Social Enterprise model delivers professional products at lower cost while supporting skill building and professional development with young people from diverse cultural backgrounds who live in Western Sydney.
Our Social Enterprise Program pairs experienced community artists and filmmakers with young, talented, aspiring trainee artists (our Curious Creators) to deliver a range of professional community workshops, digital expertise and video production and broadcasting services to our clients.
Often positioned outside of traditional and existing pathways into the arts and cultural sector, these young people develop their skills through a range of creative opportunities and training. Our holistic model of community development is designed to also support the next step in career development through our Social Enterprise Program, by providing paid on-the-job training and industry networks, matched by a well-scaffolded employment pathway plan. You can learn more about the impacts CuriousWorks has on emerging, Western Sydney working creatives through our Impact & Pathways Document.

EXAMPLES
A series of short films created through a workshop series facilitated by CuriousWorks with University of Wollongong South West Sydney and Settlement Services International. It paired migrant students with recently arrived refugees to collaboratively find common ground in their stories and worldviews.
Journey to Social Housing
The Journey to Social Housing project brought together a group of older social housing tenants from Penrith, The Hawkesbury and the Blue Mountains to discuss their stories of securing housing through Western Sydney based Wentworth Community Housing through film, photography and podcasting.
In partnership with the local police and ALS, we produced 25 short films over two years with young people in Regional NSW to increase awareness of and access to legal rights information.
MEDIA PRODUCTION
“Everyone was extremely dedicated, professional and went above and beyond – exceeding expectations! Thank you!”
Bethany Falzon, Fairfield City Museum & Gallery
